Crestfield is the camp and conference center for Pittsburgh Presbytery. While serving over 155 Presbyterian churches in Allegheny County, Crestfield welcomes user groups of other Presbyteries as well as those groups who who serve other denominations and organizations.
Our mission statement was revised in the fall of 2007, and states the following:
Crestfield is called by God to partner with churches and communities to nurture all people in Christ through discipling, outreach, sanctuary and hospitality so that they may participate more fully in what God is doing in the world.
Since 1948 Crestfield has had its doors open to serve the hundreds of campers that come each summer. At Crestfield, summer camp is not merely for the young: Crestfield even offers programs for adults during the summer camp season. During our summer camp programs, campers stay for the week where they are led and discipled to by Crestfield's quality summer camp counselors.
Throughout the year the Crestfield Staff works hard to plan and implement a variety of programs for folks of all ages to attend. These events include our youth retreats, Mission Possible, Quilting Retreat, Women's Retreat and programs specifically geared towards older adults. Our youth events are designed for church youth groups to attend together, providing their own chaperones, so that relationships can be built.
Crestfield also offers its cozy lodging and warm Christian hospitality to folks looking for space to host their own event. During these events Crestfield does not plan the schedule (with the exception of meal times and quiet hours), however Crestfield does offer a variety of outdoor adventures that many groups choose to add to their package. Guest groups range from all-church retreats, to session retreats, to community service outings. Crestfield is certainly not open exclusively to the Pittsburgh Presbytery, or Presbyterians for that matter.
